Our Story

The Craigieburn Basin Working Group was formed in response to the devastating fire that impacted a significant portion of our native landscape. We are united in our commitment to regenerate, restore, and protect this unique alpine environment with a 100-year vision in mind.

Through collaboration, science-based planning, and shared stewardship, we aim to support the natural regeneration of native flora, manage invasive species, and ensure that future generations can experience a thriving, biodiverse Craigieburn Basin.

Our focus today is practical and urgent — from baseline ecological surveys to pest control and trial plantings — all part of a coordinated five-year plan designed to lay the foundation for long-term success.
